| Abstract | Eight stories that share the fictional setting of Tenney's Landing, Pennsylvania, on the Monongahela River. Tudish offers an historical sketch of the village in a prologue: founder Lucius Tenney was a Virginia soldier who first arrived during one of George Washington's campaigns. According to a 2005 interview with the author in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, this scenario is borrowed from her family history. |
