Abstract |
A Johnstown Flood novel in which young Megan Maxwell is swept away on a mattress when a wall of water destroys her house. A raft bearing two actors from a traveling show, an old watchmaker, and a messenger boy rescues Megan. All begin a collective search for family and friends.
