Abstract
When a refinery explosion kills workers, strike leader W. T. Halvorsen and CIO organizer Doris Gurley Golden confront Daniel Thunner, owner of a small oil company. “Richly entertaining melodrama about the US labor movement, reminiscent of both early Steibeck and John Sayles's Union Dues,” says the Kirkus Review.
