Abstract |
A fictionalized account of General Braddock in which John Henry, 15, is swept into the long march of the Braddock Expedition. Henry fights in the Battle of the Monongahela, survives the massacre by the French and Indians, and returns home, having earned his stripes with men like Captain George Croghan, Colonel Peter Halkett, General Braddock, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Daniel Boone.
