Author Biography |
Kenneth Burke (1897-1993), born in Pittsburgh, graduated from Pittsburgh's Peabody High School before attending Ohio State and Columbia Universities. Burke was a leading literary theorist, critic, and translator. At Peabody, he developed a friendship with Malcolm Cowley, best remembered as an important novelist, poet, and literary critic. He died at his home in Andover, New Jersey.
