A simple, agricultural eutopia is destroyed by people from Earth. The people are closely in tune with their planet, vegetarian, live in marriage groups, and have rich inner lives. The arriving Earth ship releases the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Pestilence, Famine, War, and Death) from the psyches of the nine people from Earth on the ship onto the planet.
