The story is set in a future eutopian community in Wisconsin called ReNew, which was intended to reflect the “regenerative residential lifestyle” with high rise urban farms, gardens, permaculture, and all of the desirable environmental design features that are currently possible, Part of a movement that included multiple such communities, all growing a wide range of crops, raising chicken and goats, and with some adding things such as fish hatcheries. Includes an argument that change comes slowly through individual contact.
