The story is told by the stewardess of a two-class spaceship leaving the climate ravaged Earth for a newly settled planet where everyone will be expected to work and everything will then be provided equally. The upper deck is comfortable cabins that for which the wealthy pay extremely high prices that cover the cost of shipping goods to the new planet and the fares for everyone else, who get bunks in the lower deck, and have been chosen by lottery. Surprise ending.
