The Second Civil War from 2074-2095 was followed by a decade-long plague that, together, torn the U. S. apart. Southern states had seceded primarily because they objected to an act that outlawed the use of fossil fuels. The story is about a young girl born in a border area who is then forced into a northern refugee camp, with obvious parallels o today’s refugee camps, and is radicalized there.
