Post-catastrophe novel in which the few remaining humans are rescued by aliens. The alien society is presented as eutopian. The aliens restore earth and slightly redesign humans, who deeply resent it. Humans seem apt to recreate the dystopia that had been our civilization. First volume of a trilogy. Dawn is being adapted for a TV series by Ava DuVerney (b. 1972).
