The story was adapted as the first act of Christopher Sergel's, Kurt Vonnegut's Welcome to the Monkey House: A Full-Length Play. Chicago, IL: Dramatic Publishing Co., 1970, which is not related to 1968 Vonnegut, "Welcome to the Monkey House". A 1995 cable TV film “Harrison Bergeron” directed by Bruce Pittman with a screenplay by Arthur Crimm and Joe Glassco was loosely based on the story. Also, a short film 2081 written and directed by Chandler Tuttle was released in 2009.
