Most children are born in machines and raised in "child communes". The people recognize that they are far from perfect and something like a slum exists among the wealth and the beautiful architecture. No religion. The eutopia is attacked and almost defeated by the followers of a charismatic religious leader who has taken over an entire planet through drugs that enhance psychic ability and allows people to be controlled.
