"Naked Earth"

The story is set in a climate change future where society is divided into three class, the embracers who do everything possible to personally produce power that is sent to the grid. The unshackled do as they like, and the undecided are essentially outcasts who pay a heavy price for their agnostic position. The protagonist is a young women trying to decide. The Black female author was born in Tanzania, lived for some years in England and Australia, and currently lives in the U.S. She trained as a computer scientist (MA and MSc) in England and also holds a PhD in writing from Swinburne University of Technology. Her name is given as here in the contents and on the story but as Eugen M. Bacon in the list of contributors and on her website.
