The Others and the People cooperate by the end of the third volume but not before the Others are almost destroyed. The second volume, Otherwhere. New York: St. Martin’s, 1991 focuses on the conflicts between the Others and the People that resulted in the near elimination of the Others and internecine war among the People. In the third volume, Otherwise. New York: St. Martin’s Press, 1993, the various conflicts are resolved.
