Dystopia of the Soviet takeover of the U.S. designed to alert Americans to the danger. The female author testified on communism before the Dies Committee (House Committee on Un-American Activities chaired from 1938 to 1944 by Martin Dies, Jr. [1900-72]) in 1940, provided an affidavit on communism to the California Un-American Activities Committee in 1942, and compiled lists of communists in Southern California for the Subversive Squad of the Los Angeles District Attorney.
