Young adult flawed utopia. A supposedly perfect underground city called Elysium is a highly structured, inegalitarian dystopia that practices eugenics. The novel follows a young woman, whose mother is the dictator, and who has been chosen for the highest class as she learns the truth about her society and by the end of the novel escapes to the surface. New York: Tor Teen, 2016 in which the girl and her friends intend to kidnap her mother and exile her to the surface. The ending suggests that a further volume is possible.
