| Abstract |
The purpose of this Food Stamp project was to test a specific education method with emphasis on Hispanic families in urban settings. The objectives of the project were to implement and evaluate the cost efficiency and learning effectiveness of mail and telephone teaching in comparison to the traditional EFNEP one-to-one method of nutrition education. The educational method used was one-to-one lessons plus mailed lessons supplemented with telephone calls. Homemakers were recruited and assigned randomly to one of three educational groups; control, structured one-to-one, and one-to-one plus mail-plus phone. |
