Evaluation of the learning modules produced by Nebraska for training paraprofessionals in EFNEP

This project produced eight learning modules designed to meet some of the specific educational needs of paraprofessionals in the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). The eight learning modules were: "The Mission of the EFNEP Aides", "Stages in the Life Cycle", "Recruiting Program Families", "Cultural Foods of Families", "Helping People Learn and Do", "Helping People Change", "Working Smarter", "Measuring the Program Family's Progress." A learning module consists of a videotape and written guide designed to contribute to the initial and continued training needs of EFNEP paraprofessionals or program aides. The modules developed in this project offer great flexibility in terms of choice of time, place, and use with either new or experienced aides or a combination of the two. The modules were pilot tested in Texas, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. The eighth module, "Measuring the Program Family's Progress" was produced, but reviewed only informally in Nebraska, Washington, DC, Arkansas, and Georgia.
